Mood Board Inspiration: March 2020

With the spring season around the corner, I have to admit, I am looking forward to a surge of color in all the things — decor, fashion…even nature! So when I started thinking about this month’s “mood” especially with what’s currently going on in the world around us, I knew I wanted it to be something that represented new life & excitement…just like spring itself. The composition of the rich green tones, regal brass hues, and delicate infusion of ivory provided me with the perfect visual representation of the season ahead… aka #issamood.

Hello Spring!

Nothing really says springtime like greenery! After months of cold chill and bare branches, as the sun shines more and things start to come into bloom, your spirits can’t help but start to be lifted… allergies be damned! Spring isn’t about muted pastels as we’ve so often been told. The color green is synonymous with being harmonious, positive, and organic; so green hues can have a power and a richness to them without being too overwhelming or “moody”, serving as a wonderful color bridge for many other combinations (i.e. natural materials).

Fun fact: much of the greenery you’re seeing in the initial inspiration vignette (from one of my last trip to high point market) is actually from the mirror’s reflection!

How fitting that the greenery is reflected in the image, in the same way that I think greenery in general reflects one of the most beautiful aspects of life — growth… (yep, this got real deep real fast!). But in all seriousness, white the star of the vignette was intended to be the beautifully crafted brass mirror, the floral arrangement added an element of life to the entire presentation.

No matter where you land, as it relates to your affinity towards the color green, you cannot deny that it’s the perfect way to usher in the new spring season, with neutral, natural, and/or metal elements for a well-rounded look that can be bth laid back & luxe.
