Kitchen Accessories Shopping Guide: Green

For National Color Day last week, I decided to revisit all of my old posts from my kitchen color guide series featuring white, black, gold/brass, copper, wood, red, blush pink, and blue. Having had started this series 4 years ago, I knew that updates would be necessary, plus it gave me a chance to reconnect with color in a way that I hadn’t for quite some time.

I took to my Instagram with new of my updates and asked you guys which color should be next. The overwhelming majority said green… so here we are we the newest installment to the series!

Fun Fact: one of the simplest ways to decorate with green is through actual greenery — real or fact. Pops of green from plants can be just as impactful as a form of decor as any of the pieces I’ve shared in this post… however, it’s always fun to be able to incorporate color with functional pieces of as well. From cookware to dinnerware… from small appliances to stylish storage… green is not a difficult color to incorporate into your kitchen design. If you’re looking for more permanent options, it’s even become more and more common to see green cabinets & backsplash.

In my own kitchen renovation, I was very intentional about incorporating the color green, even though it wasn’t part of the original color palette. A mix of real & faux plants, cookware, and books allowed me to introduce green into the space in a way that was subtle and perfect up against the hygge luxe backdrop.

Like many of the other colors I’ve covered with this series, green comes in many hues, each invoking a different vibe while still being part of the same color family — from the soothing nature of sage to the bold feel of hunter. This is very on brand for green, a color associated with harmony — it’s a color that can work harmoniously in any space.
